The latest information available till Thursday shows that a total of 34 ships carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG), LPG and oil have been operating at the outer anchorage and jetty of Chittagong Port. Out of these, 27 ships have already completed unloading their goods and left the port.
According to port sources, out of the total 34 ships, 27 ships have successfully completed unloading their goods and returned to their destinations.
Among them, LNG ships Al Zur, Lusail and Prachi from Qatar and Australia are among them. In addition, LPG ships Morning Zen, Epic Santer from Oman, Malaysia and India and gas oil ship Gran Kuva from Singapore have completed their operations and left the port.
According to the report, three ships are currently directly involved in the unloading process or are waiting. Among them, the ship BWEK Bornholm (LPG) from Oman is currently at Sitakunda Point.
The ship AB Olivia (Base Oil) from Thailand is currently at the DOJ/4 Jetty of the port. The ship Gran Kuva (Gas Oil) from Singapore is currently at Kutubdia Point.
Four more large ships are waiting to dock at the port in the next few days to keep the fuel supply system running. Among them, the ship HL Puffin (LNG) from Qatar was supposed to arrive yesterday but has not reached the port yet.
The ship New Brave (LNG) from Indonesia will arrive at the port today. The ship PVT Solana (Gas Oil) from Singapore is scheduled to arrive on March 31. The huge ship Celsius Galapagos (LNG) from the United States is expected to arrive at the port on April 4. These ships, mainly from Qatar, Australia, Oman and Singapore, carry gas and fuel oil required for the country's power plants, industries and household use.
Syed Refayet Hamim, Secretary of the Tattagram Port Authority, said, "We are giving berthing facilities to ships carrying fuel cargo on a priority basis."
The port's operational activities have been kept operational 24 hours a day to maintain the country's current energy situation. The arrival and rapid unloading of these fuel ships will play an important role in maintaining the stability of the country's industrial production and power supply system.
